On vehicles with a 2 2 l engine only remove the engine wiring harness bracket located at the rear of the intake manifold.

An attached fan forces heated air through the heater core fins and into the cabin when the heater is on.

I removed the dash removed the blower box took a bit to find the hidden bolt behind the head to allow.
Engine coolant flows continuously from the lower radiator hose to and through the heater core causing the unit to heat.
The front dash panel can be removed by unbolting several screws at the bottom of the panel then pulling the panel away from the dash.
The heater core will be accessible thru the top of the air box.
Remove the hvac module mounting nut located at the lower right side of the heater core to heater connection.
